Wishpond is looking for a talented UI/UX Lead who wants to be part of the retail revolution. We are a dynamic, Vancouver-based company that is growing by leaps and bounds. You must be entrepreneurial, great at multi-tasking and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Previous experience in a startup setting is greatly valued. You are passionate about design, eager to provide both a useful and delightful experience. You care as much about every pixel of visual design as much as you care about how it is technically implemented. You aren?t afraid to move fast, make a decision and iterate as you go.

Here?s a snapshot of what you?ll be doing:

• Translating lists of requirements into elegant user experiences.
• Creating a cohesive visual library that is both beautiful and functional.
• Turning technical data into amazing visualizations.
• Sweating the small stuff, finessing each pixel.
• Giving feedback on designs and eager to hear what others think.
• Collaborate closely the product, marketing, sales and engineering teams.
• Design amazingly cool applications and interfaces for consumers and retail clients
• Create designs for print, web, mobile and social environments
• Design compelling infographics and interactive visualizations to help communicate difficult concepts
• Occasionally illustrating a blog post or creating a visual for sales material.

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:

• Proven experience for practical UI design for major brands and/or sites
• Understand best practices of usability and web design
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Expert knowledge of Photoshop, Fireworks, Illustrator & InDesign

Nice to haves

• Experience with design for iOS or Android
• Knowledge of HTML5 / CSS3 / JS
• Ruby / Rails
• Familiarity with HAML, SLIM, SASS and other shorthand languages, or at least an eagerness to learn them.

What we?re looking for:

• A strong portfolio of both product design and marketing work.
• 2-5 years experience in the field. You?ve got a few projects or apps under your belt.
• Ideally, you have 3 or more years experience in high-tech front-end web technologies like jQuery, HTML5 and CSS/CSS3 as well as a background UI/UX design.
• You should like talking to and engaging with your users as much as you possibly can.
