Our Missions
To foster and strengthen network for our members;
To facilitate professional development for our members;
To promote balanced life styles;
To involve in local community functions;
TIO Young Professional Association is an organization for young professionals and working individuals who reside and work in Canada. While the majority of the members are Taiwanese-Canadians, TIO's member-base is consisted of individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Our Members
Most of our members were born in Taiwan or other parts of Asia, educated in North America, and are currently working in the Greater Vancouver area. Although the word “professional” usually refers only to those who have a professional designation, such as lawyers, accountants, doctors, engineers, etc., TIO deems all those who have entered the work force or graduate/professional school programs on full-time basis as part of our “professional” group.
- Completion of Post-Secondary Education
- Working full-time
- Enrolled in graduate school or professional school.
Events
Some of our major events in the past include Wine & Cheese, Cocktail Party, Summer BBQ, Winter Reception and Meet the Future You, a professional-student networking event, all created to provide a platform for our members to network and have some fun!
Our regular events in our life style program include Tuesday Gym Nights (badminton / volleyball), Summer Driving Range, and Summer Beach Volleyball etc. We also host social mixers to encourage our members to meet new friends. As professional development, we have been organizing subgroup seminars and gathering such as resume workshop, public speaking seminar and work experience sharing sections with other professionals.

With generous sponsors, donations from members and participants, assistance from other organizations, as well as profits from our events, TIO had raised over $10000 for Canadian Cancer Society since the program started. TIO has very proud to initate and participate in such a meaningful event that could benefit others in our community, and we encourage you to join us in our effort to help fighting agaist cancer!
